Alpha begins Wednesday, March 4th at 6:30 pm and will end about 8:30 pm. It continues each Wednesday until May 13th. We will begin with dinner in the Round Hill Church basement. This Alpha is for those 18 years of age and older. Childcare is provided. You can register at the bottom of this page or just come on March 4th.
We encourage you to come and try ALPHA.
Alpha is an opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. It’s run in churches, bars, coffee shops and homes worldwide. Essentially, Alpha is a safe place to explore life’s biggest questions. Questions like:
Is There More to Life Than This? Who Is Jesus?
How Can I Have Faith? Why and How Do I Pray?
How Does God Guide Us? Who Is the Holy Spirit?
How Can I Make the Most of the Rest of My Life? Does God Heal Today?
What About the Church?
Every Alpha session has three key elements: food, a talk and discussion:
FOOD Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch-up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. We start with food, because it’s a great way to encourage community and get to know each other.
TALK The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Generally thirty minutes long, they can be given as a live talk or played as a video. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? and How can I have faith?
DISCUSSION Probably the most important part of any Alpha is the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything. And there’s nothing you can’t say. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
